1) Benutzte Version: 1.10.0
2) OS: Windows XP SP2
2a) Theme - Standard XP Silver
3) Bug-Beschreibung:
Im Verzeichnisbaum werden unter "Eigene Dateien"
die Verzeichnisse "Eigenen Bilder" & "Eigene Musik" nicht dargestellt.
4) SettingsFile - siehe Anhang

Vorab schon mal ein DankeschÃ¶n fÃ¼r LÃ¶sungsansÃ¤tze.

Hi,

ich konnte den Fehler bis jetzt nicht reproduzieren. Tritt er auch bei den Beispielprojekten auf?
Eine groÃŸe Hilfe wÃ¤re es, wenn Sie sich den Namespace Browser runterladen und mir einen Screenshot dieses Programmes zukommen lassen wÃ¼rden, auf dem einer der beiden Ordner markiert ist.

I couldn't reproduce the error so far. Do the sample projects show the same behavior?
A big help would be, if you could download the Namespace Browser and send me a screenshot of this program in which either of those two directories is selected.

Danke fÃ¼r die schnelle Antwort!

Ich habe Screenshots vom Namespace Browser aus Eigene Dateien und Eigene Bilder, sowie von der Anwendung selbst gemacht. Bei den Screenshots der Anwendung kann man sehen, dass die entsprechenden Ordner selbst an ihrem tatsÃ¤chlichen Platz im Dateisystem nicht angezeigt werden.
Ich habe die Anwendung auf einem anderen PC getestet, und kann dort dieses Problem auch nicht reproduzieren.
BTW: Super Control fÃ¼r VB6 dieses ExplorerTreeView

Thanks for the fast answer!

I've done screenshots of Namespace Browser showing My Documents and My Pictures and of the application itself. On the screenshots of the application you can see, that the directories are not displayed at their place within the filesystem.
I've tested the application on another PC and can't reproduce the problem there either.
BTW: Phat control for VB6 this ExplorerTreeView

Bis jetzt tappe ich noch vÃ¶llig im Dunkeln, denn die Screenshots vom Namespace Browser zeigen erstaunlicherweise keine AuffÃ¤lligkeiten.

Ich glaube ich habe die Ursache gefunden. MÃ¶glicherweise haben die beiden Ordner auf manchen Systemen das System-Attribut. Es kÃ¶nnte also helfen, bei den Filtereinstellungen (genauer: FolderAttributes) Systemordner mit zuzulassen.

I think I've found the source of the problem. Maybe both folders have the System attribute set on some systems. So it may help to go to the filter settings (more precisely: FolderAttributes) and allow system folders.

Ja... ich denke, das wars... wenn ich das System-Attribut entferne, dann werden die Ordner angezeigt - allerdings als normale Ordner (ohne ShellIcon).
Vielleicht gibts ja dafÃ¼r auch noch eine LÃ¶sung

Yes... I think, that was it... if I remove the system attribute, the folders are shown - but as normal folders (without their special icon).
Maybe there's a solution for this one, too.

StandardmÃ¤ÃŸig steht die FolderAttributes-Eigenschaft auf Archive + Compressed + Encrypted + ReadOnly. Hidden und System fehlen. Wenn ein Ordner das System-Attribut hat, wird er also nicht angezeigt.

Was die Icons angeht: Das kann ich ebenfalls gerade nicht reproduzieren. Zeigt denn der Windows Explorer (nach einem Rechnerneustart) noch die richtigen Icons an? Ich bin mir eigentlich ziemlich sicher, die Icons auf dem selben Wege wie der Windows Explorer zu ermitteln.

By default, the FolderAttributes property is set to Archive + Compressed + Encrypted + ReadOnly. Hidden and System are missing. So if a folder has the System attribute, it won't be displayed.

Concerning the icons: I can't reproduce it right now. Does Windows Explorer (after rebooting the system) still show the correct icons? Actually, I'm pretty sure, that I'm determining the icons the same way as Windows Explorer does.

Das mit den Attributen werde ich mal austesten.
Was die Icons betrifft - ja: der Explorer stellt sie richtig dar.
Auch der Namespace Browser zeigt sie richtig an - siehe Screenshot.

Ich habe mir mal angeschaut wie der Namespace Browser die Icons lÃ¤dt und dessen Vorgehensweise Ã¼bernommen. Das angehÃ¤ngte Build 636 sollte die beiden Icons jetzt korrekt anzeigen. Ich bitte um eine kurze BestÃ¤tigung, denn sollte der Fehler wirklich behoben sein, wÃ¼rde ich Build 636 als Version 1.10.1 offiziell releasen.

I've taken a look at how Namespace Browser is determining the icons and adopted its approach. The attached build 636 should display both icons correctly. I ask you for a short confirmation, because I would officially release build 636 as version 1.10.1 if the error is gone.

Ich musste wegen Rechnerwechsel eine Neuinstallation machen... *grmpf*
Ich kann das jetzt leider nicht mehr nachvollziehen - falls der Fehler wider Erwarten nochmals auftreten sollte, werde ich Bescheid geben.

Da ich jetzt Urlaub habe, werde ich erst ab Mitte nÃ¤chsten Monats dazu kommen weiter an meinem Projekt zu arbeiten.
SpaÃŸig wirds mit der Portierung nach Java

Da es da kein gescheites ExplorerTreeView gibt, werde ich wohl selbst basteln mÃ¼ssen.
VB6 war eigentlich nur eine Machbarkeitsstudie...

Trotzdem vielen Dank fÃ¼r die BemÃ¼hungen!

Unfortunatelly I can't reproduce it anymore now - if the error comes back contrary to expectations, I'll let you know.

Because I'm on holiday now, I won't be able to work on this project again before the middle of next month.
The port to Java will be funny

Because there's no usable ExplorerTreeView, I'll have to do it myself.
VB6 was just a feasibility study...
